South peak gaming brings chess "To A Whole New Level" by creating difficult challenges and giving the player options on expertise levels. I especially like having difficulty levels because as you move on you are gaining skill. Battle Vs. Chess features three very interesting game modes to choose from; it's difficult to choose which one I find most exciting. You can choose from Classic, Dual, and Slasher mode. In Classic mode the player is engaged in a traditional graphically enhanced chess game. The player is able to see the chess pieces on the board and has the ability to move the pieces to defeat the enemy. Just like traditional chess the player moves the pieces to ultimately capture the opponent's king. The Dual mode option allows you to challenge an opposing piece by testing your speed and hand eye coordination. If you fail, it gives the opposing piece the right to attack the player while vulnerable. The last mode is Slasher. In Slasher mode there is a game type "madness placement" here the player is able to strategically place the game pieces before the game begins. If the player has opted to compete against the computer it will randomly generate where to begin on the board. Additionally Slasher mode has mini games where there's an all out brawl and all the pieces are involved and the player maneuvers the pieces in a fight to gain control, with pieces staying true to their function - the stronger pieces over power the weaker ones. Slasher mode has more of an action demeanor then your typical chess game.
