So this DVD came in the Val-cave mail and your friendly neighborhood reporter Epic-1 picked it up because as you might not know I eat sleep and drink wrestling. I’ve been watching wrestling since I was five and with that I watch all wrestling based movies. Some suck, some are good, and some are great. Well I picked up Wrestlemaniac featuring Rey Mysterio Sr. (El Mascarada), uncle of current WWE wrestler Rey Mysterio, and former diva search entrant and now Deal Or No Deal girl Leyla Milani (Dallas), with Irwin Keyes (The Stranger) whom you might recognize from House of 1000 corpses, Flintstones “Viva Rock Vegas”, or from the classic movie The Warriors.

The base of the story follows a wannabe producer/slash wannabe porn star Alphonse (Adam Huss) and his crew Steve (Jeremy Radin), Debbie (Margaret Scarboruogh) Daisy (Catherine Wreford) and Jimbo (Zack Bennet) trying to get to Cabo San Lucas, but they get lost and bump into the stranger who tells them a short cut passing by La Sangre De Dios, a ghost town with a legend of a wrestler who killed everyone in town and was locked in not to kill anymore. Alphonse sees an opportunity to make his porno here and starts filming. This is where we see Daisy doing Dallas, Debbie doing Daisy, and Debbie does Dallas (hmm Debbie does Dallas sounds like a good movie title to me lol). One by one El Mascarada kills them by wrestling them. and for all you wrestling fans to know, the most disrespectful way to embarrass a Mexican wrestler is to take his mask off. Well he rips there faces off; its awesome. Well this goes on till the end until the final two and you can see the movie to see what happens.

The movie isn’t that long so you really can’t get bored and the plot isn’t too difficult so you can follow it from any part of the movie. For wrestling fans this is a good horror movie for us and for horror fans this won’t disappoint.

Well the good is also the bad in this movie; it’s too short, the plot is not difficult and besides wrestling and horror fans, you may not want to watch this. The crew is very basic except for Irwin Keyes in the few minutes he’s in it, makes his point and puts in a great performance.

Not too much ugly about this picture except for the face ripping I think they should’ve showed a lot more.

So in conclusion pick this DVD up if you love wrestling or horror. I’m giving the movie 3 stars and it has been Epic-1 tested and TOV approved!!!
