Hey gang, Valkor here. Battery life with our mobile devices has changed immensely. I used to leave my house with my phone fully charged. And after an hour, the battery life on my device would drop to 50%. If I kept with me a fully charged battery pack, I'd be fine for the day. But without one, the day is shot - unless I’m near an outlet. And even then I'd have to wait until my smartphone was at a decent level. I carry the Samsung S23 Ultra these days; And it has a long-lasting battery life! I could go through an entire workday and still have more than enough juice before needing to top up. But no matter what, whether traveling or making moves towards a TOV event, having a solid portable battery pack is still a wise investment. And the latest to cross the Val-Cave desk comes from the company Baseus. And whenever you're in need of a battery pack, they have the ideal one that can manage both short and long trips. Enter the Baseus Blade HD Laptop Power Bank. And this might be the only battery pack you'll ever need. Check it out.

At the outset, the Baseus Blade HD sports a slim, square design that easily fits in most carrying cases (messenger bag, backpack, or medium-sized purse). At the top of the power bank are four ports - two USB-C and two standard USB ports. Finally, on the right side is your power button. When you press the power button or plug in your device, a digital display lights up, showing how much charge the Blade HD has, how much charge it's outputting, and how long it will take until your device is fully-charged. I was able to get the S23 Ultra down to 43%. And when its plugged into the Blade HD, it shows that it will take approximately 50 minutes until it reaches 100. That's pretty damn fast!

And with its 100W of power, The Blade HD can charge multiple devices at once – up to four devices in total. I've only ever gone so far as to charge three (S23 Ultra, Nintendo Switch, and iPhone 12). And even in that instance, the Blade HD didn't hesitate to power up all three devices. However, it's not perfect. And I'll dive more into that with the TOV Breakdown.
The Bang:
Baseus Blade HD power bank is an impressive device everyone should have along their travels! Its slim design makes it easily portable. And it's not too heavy, though you'll feel its weightiness. Nevertheless, you won't think twice about packing the Blade HD for your journey. But you want to know how well it charges. When it comes to charging devices, the Blade HD is an incredible gadget. Again, my S23 Ultra was on the low at 43%. But in less than an hour, I was back to 100%. It's great if you're out and about, talking pics and videos, or even gaming. And if things get too low, the Blade HD will have you back in the game in no time. I like the digital screen. However, I'm not a big fan of it. The power bank's remaining charge level is the only figure that matters. Otherwise, the other numbers are just gibberish to me. I can see the importance if you're techy. But for the most part, it's not needed. However, I understand why it's there, so I won't hold the display in the negative. In the end, Baseus, you've scored your first TOV win in the Val-Cave with the Blade HD. I love its portability, but I'm so in love with how fast it charges my devices. This is the one power bank to rule them all. That is until I see what the next iteration is all about.

The Slack:
My one snag with the Blade HD is when I'm charging multiple devices; When pitting the S23 Ultra and Nintendo Switch together with the Blade HD, I noticed that the S23 would get most of the charge, while the Switch would charge on the low side. Things picked up for the Switch once I unplugged the S23 from the pack. Compared to the S23, the Switch drew less power, thus I would argue there may be an allocation issue. Maybe not. Also, if you're charging multiple items at once, prepare yourself for wire entanglement.

Regardless, the Baseus Blade HD is a power bank that puts plenty of other power banks to shame. With great power (100W) comes great chargeability, and the Blade HD does it with quickness! I love its speed and portability. And I highly recommend adding this one to your travel repertoire! So, out of TOV 5 stars, I'm giving Baseus Blade HD Power Bank a 4.5.
