• Seth Macfarlane's Cavalcade of Cartoon Comedy DVD Review

Hey folks, Valkor here. There's "Family Guy", "American Dad", and "The Cleveland Show"; all three great cartoons, from the mind of one man "Seth Macfarlane". And His latest toon project "Seth Macfarlane's Cavalcade of Cartoon Comedy" has gone direct to DVD and for obvious reasons. This shit's in your face raw and makes me giggles in places unseen, though not always.

Seth Macfarlane's Cavalcade of Cartoon Comedy

Cavalcade looks to be a collection of cartoons, which are presented with a placard before each toon describing what you're about to see. And each toon is very literal to what the card states – what you see is what you get. There are no twists or anything unexpected, just good ole comedic slapstick, fart and gay jokes, rip on celebs and of course poop humor. If slapstick, fart jokes, gay jokes, rip on celebs and poop humor are you're thing then this is definitely up you're alley. Here's a taste of what you'll be getting.

The Gay Knight – Sir Gallant and King Arthur discuss what should be done about the dragon plaguing the kingdom… but Sir Gallant is just a tad bit hesitant… and very, very gay.

Fred Flintstone takes a shit – Just what it says.

Super Mario rescues the Princess – After Mario defeats Bowser, he only asks the Princess for one thing, but she ain't givin that up.

He Who Lives in a Glass House – You know what they say about that, and we get to actually see what happens when "he who lives in a glass house" throws stones.

Sex with Optimus Prime – See what happens when a human woman has sex with the leader of the Autobots.

Barry Gibbs rides a Rollercoaster – Lead singer of the BeeGees takes a rollercoaster ride with hilarious results.

Dirty Vaudeville – You need to see this one.

Extras are pretty slim; you get the red carper premiere of the DVD, which includes interviews with Seth Macfarlane, other cast members and folks who worked behind the scene. There's also stills and trailers… and not much else.

The Good:

For a collection of cartoons that look like they could have been Family Guy "Flashback" rejects, it's not all that bad. Because all the jokes are literal, there's no need to sit and guess what's about to come up, if the card says "singing dickpenis" expect to literally see a singing dickpenis. (though not one of the jokes, but if there's a second DVD, Macfarlane you can use that one). And is it raw? Oh it is freakin raw!! You have people having sex (though they are covered up), one dude poops on a couple getting married, another guy goes into detail to his aunt about what he did with his wife and a piece of cake, and did I mention the "dirty vaudeville"? Shit's crazy!

The Bad:

While there are a few hits, there are quite a few misses. And it's the misses that really misses. Like if you could play that noise, you know when you lose on "the Price is Right" after all the bad sketches… you'd hear it a lot! A LOT!

The Ugly:

Name That Animal Penis. Yuck! But still quite funny.

Overall "Seth Macfarlane's Cavalcade of Cartoon Comedy" succeeds at aiming to please and I was very pleased. I love the shows Macfarlane makes and now I can toss this DVD into the bunch, which I only recommend to those who love Macfarlane's style of humor. So, out of TOV 5 stars, I give the Cavalcade of Cartoons 3 stars and it's been Valkor tested and TOV Approved.
