Hey gang, Valkor here. While the Nintendo Switch is a little over two years old, we've only had one in-house for less than a year. And while coverage of Switch games and accessories has been slim, things are about to change. And we're kicking things off with HyperX and the ChargePlay Quad Joy-Con Charging Station.

On the outset, the ChargePlay Quad is a dome-shaped puck with slots for four controllers; it's either you have extras or you have a friend over who brought along their Switch along with them and in need to keep their controllers charged. Once connected, the corresponding indicator light will blink, showing the joy-cons are charging. And once your controller(s) are fully charged, the light will stay solid. The ChargePlay Quad also comes with a USB cable that plugs into a microUSB port at the back of the puck, which you then plug into one of the available USB ports on the Switch docking station. Side by side, the two look great together, especially if you have colored joy-cons that really help the device to stand out.

The majority of my gaming with the Switch is mainly in tablet mode, either with the joy-cons attached or with the tablet resting on the table and I'm using the Grip controller. So it's not often I'm playing on the big screen, wearing out the joy-cons batteries. However, for this testing, I changed things up. And I'm ready to render my verdict in the TOV Breakdown!

The Bang:
It's a smart idea to invest in HyperX's ChargePlay Quad Charging Station, especially if most of your Switch gaming is home rather than away. While there isn't much in terms of setting it up, it's mad easy to use and it does a solid job of keeping your joy-cons full for when you're about to get in some extensive play time. Or even better, the ChargePlay Quad works well if you have more than the initial two joy-cons in your home. Personally, I think the ChargePlay Quad is dope! Not only because it keeps my joy-cons up to snuff, but it simply looks nice next to the Switch Dock. But the best part is that it's easier placing the joy-cons in the ChargePlay Quad rather than having to fumble with the tablet; I don't always lock em in with the tablet, but with the Quad, it's a breeze. In the end, if you're looking for the perfect accessory to side along with your Switch, then you'd be doing yourself a favor by adding HyperX's ChargePlay Quad to the mix.

The Slack:
N/A

The HyperX ChargePlay Quad Charging Station is available now. And you're joy-cons will thank you if you're adding this accessory to your repertoire. It's not only easy to use but it looks great too. And that's a one-two combo you can't beat! So, out of TOV 5 stars, I'm giving the HyperX ChargePlay Quad a perfect 5.
