Nomad Chargekey Review

Hey gang, Valkor here. Have you ever been caught out in the wild sans charger and your phone’s battery is running close to empty? Or if you’re the type who’s used to carrying a portable battery pack… but you forgot that too? Been there, done that right? Well the folks at Nomad, newcomer to the TOV Val-Cave, have come up with a simple solution with Chargekey (for iPhone 5, 5s, 5c). Just be sure you don’t leave your keys behind.

Nomad Chargekey

Chargekey is quite possibly the smallest charging cable in existence that easily fits in the palm of your hand. It has a rubber body, USB connector on one end and a lightning port tip on the other. In the middle is a hard, plastic loop so that this mini cable can slip onto any keychain or keyring. This makes it the perfect, on the go cable so you’re never in a situation where you’re in desperate need of a charge, so long as you have a USB port nearby, you’re good.

Chargekey also comes in Micro USB flavor, so for all you Samsung Galaxy users out there (such as myself), or anyone who might be interested, don’t worry, you’re in good hands. Currently, though the Micro USB version is on backorder when last I checked the site.

The Bang:

You can’t go wrong with a Chargekey; it’s the perfect on the go cable for anyone and everyone. It’s a great investment for frequent travelers, most of whom carry a laptop around, but may have a tendency to forget their charging cable. It's perfect for students as well, who have access to computers just about anywhere either on campus, a friend’s laptop or even in a classroom. Most workplaces have at lease one computer handy, so unless all the USB ports are crammed, you should be good to go. In short, Chargekey is a piece of mind, on a keychain. And the idea works for me.

The Slack:

If you’re plugging the Chargekey into a laptop, then that should be OK since they’ll probably be level and your device can lay flat on a surface. However when plugging into a desktop, then might have to prop up you’re device up somehow. That may include using books, your backpack, messenger, etc. It all depends on where the computer is located. This also goes out to homes that may have USB outlets installed.

Nomad Chargekey

Nomad’s Chargekey, for what it’s worth, is the true "on the go" essential that anyone and everyone can appreciate. You’d be surprised where you can find a USB outlet, especially if that’s you’re only charge option. Interested in learning more? Click that logo to the right and you’re on your way. But for now, out of TOV 5 stars, the Nomad gets a 4.5 and it’s been Valkor tested, TOV Approved.
