Inkheart DVD Review

So Epic-1 is back again with a DVD review Inkheart. So imagine if things you read out loud would come to life. Well for Mo Folchart aka Silver Tongue (Brendan Fraser) it does, and he brings to life characters from the book Inkheart. But the catch is someone must go in and it happens to be his wife Resa (Sienna Guillory). Now years later Mo and his daughter Meggie (Eliza Bennett) are confronted by the characters, specifically Dustfinger (Paul Bettany), who just wants to go back into the book and be with his family, and Capricorn (Andy Serkis) the villain who wants Silver Tongue to read for him and bring him treasure and other things to reality. Now throughout the movie we see things from the Wizard of Oz which makes me believe the real author loved the book as we see flying monkeys, Mo reads the hurricane that swept away Dorothy, and we find out later that Meggie has the same powers as her dad when she reads the book and brings out Toto. The ending was great and of course Mo and his family are together again and Capricorn and the other villains all lose and Dustfinger who helps Mo goes back.

The Good

The movie in all was good and I’m upset I didn’t go see it when it came out, but glad I watched it on DVD. Brendan Fraser puts in probably his best acting ever and the supporting cast was great. I loved the fact that the Wizard of Oz stuff was in it (I’m a big OZ fan from the original to Wicked and Son of a Witch to now Inkheart). I watched this movie with friends and within the first 10 minutes my one friend said he wants to read the book and I agree. This movie is definitely family fun and it will want you to read a book which nowadays is very rare. The movie reminds you that reading can take you anywhere from places far away to Kansas, even to Shangri-La.

The Bad

The only complaint I have is that the movie was a little drawn out in some parts, but all worth it trust me.

The Ugly

So in conclusion, I loved this movie and I am definitely going to get the book. Inkheart gets 4.5 out of 5 stars and it has been Epic-1 tested and TOV approved!!!!!
