• Mazinger TENGA Robo Action Figure Review

Hey gang, Valkor here. Last year, on one of my trips to Japan, I discovered TENGA Robo–a unique collaboration between TENGA and The Good Smile Company. I loved the idea so much that I picked it up straight away. And here we are, more than a year later, and I’m able to snag another collaboration, this time with popular anime Mazinger Z, I present to you–Mazinger TENGA Robo. And let me just say, this could be the beginning of something awesome!

Mazinger TENGA

Much like TENGA Robo, Mazinger TENGA Robo sports the design of the ever-popular TENGA fleshlight but with a Mazinger spin. You’ll find the unmistakable iconic look from back to front–the figure even goes so far as to having detachable wings. The Mazinger figure comes with many levels of articulation, again similar to TENGA Robo. And just like TENGA Robo, once transformed, you’re left with the familiar TENGA fleshlight design. Unfortunately, Mazinger TENGA Robo doesn’t come with any additional accessories. However, there is a limited set that includes the Rocket Punch, which is a giant fist that’s also in the popular TENGA shape. I didn’t go that route, but if it’s still available and you’re a fan of Mazinger Z, then the limited set would be the option for you.

I like where TENGA and The Good Smile Company are going with these Tenga Robos. And I hope this is the start of more TENGA bots to come. I’d love to see featured characters such as RoboCop, the Megazord from the original Power Rangers, an Optimus Prime (or Megatron... or both!), or even (dare I say) an R2D2 TENGA Robo. That would be insanely cool! Regardless, I’m curious to see what’s next down the pike in the TENGA Robo series. So, I will keep an eye out!

The Bang:

Anime and TENGA fans, your worlds have collided into one amazing figure that is Mazinger TENGA Robo. If you’re into figure collecting (or even if you’re not) and you want something unique to add to the mix, then you need to look no further. Sure there’s the sexual connotation, but having the figure around makes for interesting conversation, especially if that someone is familiar with the TENGA brand. The transformation from robot to fleshlight mode is pretty simple, but don’t tug and pull too much or else you’ll do TENGA some damage. Otherwise, if you’re looking for a figure, that’s eye candy or just something fun to play with, then you can do no wrong in snatching yourself up a Mazinger TENGA Robo.

The Slack:

This isn’t a negative towards the figure per se, but more of a suggestion, but I feel Good Smile should create a larger Mazinger TENGA Robo; The current figure is cool. But given the fact that it doesn’t come with any accessories, I feel that with a larger figure, they could have added lights and sounds, especially in the eyes and chest areas. I’d love to see something like that. Maybe another limited edition is in order?

If Mazinger TENGA Robo is something you’re interested in, then click that logo to the right for this and more from The Good Smile Company. I think the bot makes a cool addition in anyone’s collection or if you’re just a fan of the anime and want something fun to have around. Either way, you can’t go wrong. So, out of TOV 5 stars, I’m giving Mazinger TENGA Robo a 4.5.
