• Against the Dark DVD Review

So this movie produced by Philip B. Goldfine and Steven Seagal, Directed by Richard Crudo, and starring Steven Seagal (Valkor’s Note: Wow! He is alive!) as Tao, a former ex-military turned vigilante, trying to clean the world one hunt at a time from all the virus infected vampire mutant creatures that plagued the planet. Him and his team of hunters enter this city and go to a hospital where inside there’re some survivors that are trying to escape and get to a safe place. But while they’re attempting to escape these monsters are after them. And there’s a lot of killing and blood shed, which is great. Tao and the hunters try to help the survivors escape, but there are more monsters than them. Finally, at the end of the movie, when all is said and done, Tao and three of the survivors are left.

Against The Dark

The Good

Not a lot of good except the blood looks real.

The Bad

Ok first of all what happened to Steven Seagal? I remember watching him growing up using his hands to mess people up, now he uses a sword and gun. OK I know he did that sometimes but I wanted to see him beat up the mutant vampires with his hands; break a couple of necks you know. Also the vampire mutants look like Baraka from Mortal Kombat; no originality. The storyline was done plenty of times i.e. Resident Evil and Silent Hill.

Against The Dark

The Ugly

The acting was the worst of all, and the story jumps too many times not letting you pay attention to much to of what’s going around. There’s not enough Steven Seagal either; he is the star, he should have more fight scenes.

Against The Dark

So in conclusion, this movie is mediocre at best and Steven Seagal needs to get out of these types of movies quick!!! I’m giving it 2.5 stars. Peace up out!!!!
