• Attack on Titan (Erwin and Levi) Eyeglasses Review

Hey gang, Valkor here. It’s been some time since I’ve been behind the wheels of TOV. It’s mostly because of the emergence of covid and a few other problems I’ve had in and around my life along the way. But I’m back at the helm and I’ve brought along a few interesting items to share. First, out of the box, we have another product from the Yabushita group, who are the makers of my previously reviewed Evangelion Unit 2 Eyeglasses. This round they’re tackling the world Shingeki no Kyojin aka Attack on Titan with their Attack on Titan Eyeglasses (Erwin and Levi model). And Yabushita can do no wrong as these frames are wonderful to behold! And wearing them is even sweeter!

The AOT frames are a mix of plastic and titanium, with a pair of blue-cut lenses so they can be worn while gaming or working on your PC. The arms closer to the lenses on the Erwin and Levi model features the look of the snap-blades they use when in a battle against the titans, while the blue marble coloring on the ear handles represents the look of the character's boots. The AOT glasses, similar to that of the Eva Unit 2, have a frameless design under the lenses, which is a look I prefer over a frame design. To complete the set, the AOT glasses come with a solid green case emblazoned with the Survey Corp logo, that matches the capes the characters wear. You also get an eyeglass cleaner that shows off Erwin and Levi in high-flying action. And before I forget, there are two designs you can choose from: first the Erwin and Levi, but there’s also the Ellen and Mikasa, which as the thunder spear design on handles.

When a buddy of mine showed me the frames, I knew right away that I had to have a pair. And while it took some time for my set to drop in the cave (3 months), I can honestly say it was worth the wait as the images I saw online don’t do the glasses justice. What I love the most about the set are the blade handles; the snap-on blades are a big deal in the anime/manga and having them rested around my face just felt right. And that’s always my fear when I make such purchases, especially from Japan–will it fit right? And the AOT eyeglasses fit perfectly. They’re also pretty light and feel just as flimsy as the Unit 2s. And much like with those glasses, I’m mindful of my heavy hands when putting them on. So, with a mix of a wonderful design and a sweet fit, I have to say Yabushita has scored another win with these frames.

If you’re a fan of Attack on Titan and looking to snag yourself a pair, you’ll have to do a bit of hunting. I’ve seen some on eBay with prices much higher than what I paid. You can also hit up the Yabushita site, by clicking that logo on the right if you’re not only interested in the AOT glasses but other products the company makes. In the end, the Attack on Titan Erwin and Levi eyeglasses are a work of art that any fan can appreciate. So, out of TOV 5 stars, I’m giving the Attack on Titan Glasses a perfect 5!
