• Casio Mobile Gz'One Preview

Hey folks, Valkor here. Last week TOV got the chance to hang out with two companies: Activision and Casio. Now I’m not allowed to discuss Activision until my next update, but Casio (a regular around TOV) threw an incredible party over in NYC to show off their new cameraphone The Exilim Mobile: Gz’One.

It wasn’t just a party; it was also an artist exhibition, showing off their photographs taken with the Gz’One. It was definitely one of the most interesting unveilings I’ve been too, but the tone was right and the photos really showed off the power of a cellphone camera… or a camera that has a phone included.

First the look of the device has a nice glossy black front with your standard gray back. The front has a rotating screen allowing you to adjust it for talking or talking pics. But this phone has two features: It’s got a 5.1 digicam and its submersible in about 5 feet of water.

Yea you read that correctly, submersible, water resistant. If you’re really the type who’s always on the move and time is not on your side, you can shave off minutes by using this phone in the shower. If it drops in the toilet (lumps and yellow permitting) you can fish it out and keep right on talkin with no prob.

The digicam portion takes great pictures, plus the phone comes loaded with all the features you would come to expect from a Casio cam, including BestShot, plus video recording.

Finally the phone portion contains Bluetooth, a GPS, MP3 Player (VCast… did I mention this is a Verizon phone?), digital frame and more. This is just the tip of the iceberg for the Gz’One, so look for more coverage from the Val-cave when we get a unit on hand, so stay tuned.
