• Cori Yarckin @ The Snitch in NYC

Hey folks, Valkor here with a musical treat that’s not only a treat for the eyes, but also the ears. But especially the ears, but ESPECIALLY the eyes. (Grrrr-rowl). This past week Krush and I got to rock out with Cori Yarckin at this place called “The Snitch” over in NYC. The place was a little cramped, but I’d squeeze myself into a phone booth with 50 people and Superman in it just to see Cori Yarckin. Not only is she bold on stage, but also very beautiful.

This wasn’t like the concert I attended back in Hoboken so many months back, this was a concert to sample her second album unto the masses. I will say that my feelings on the new stuff, is a mixed bag. On the one hand I enjoyed the show. Hey Cori is a great entertainer and if she’s ever in your neck of the woods, definitely go check her out, you will not be disappointed. And hangin out in NYC we’re talking great music, good crowd, and the band was on point, not missing one beat. However the songs, while still damn good, just don’t compare much to the first album, which I enjoyed immensely. Songs like “Sucks to be you” and “Daddy Don’t Know” are pretty solid rock songs and great in their own right but will never compare to the greatness that is “Gratitude” and “Better” (Two of my personal favs), though “One Day Too Late” is along those lines and great little ballad. But this was only a taste of what’s to come and I will reserve full on judgment until I can sample the entire album. Also what I wanted from her performance this round was more of what we got in Hoboken. When she did “Ballroom Blitz”, the freakin place went nuts. AAhhhhh now that was fun and so unexpected. Ultimately I think the second album will be a hit and I look forward to hearing what else is in store.

I’ll have a full CD review soon enough. But I had a great time and look forward once again to catching Cori at another performance. Also something I didn’t do last time, but will make up for it this round. Cori Yarckin you are TOV’s “PerfectView”. Not only are you gorgeous, but with a perfect body to round at that tight package, you really embiggen (Nice Simpson’s reference) everything “PerfectView” is all about.
