Hey gang, Valkor here. Whenever I make my commute and I pass by folks using their smartphones on a bus or a train, it seems like every other phone has a cracked screen. At times I’ll see someone so deep into their phone that they don’t mind their surroundings and their device goes crashing to the ground. And who doesn’t know someone who has a cracked screen phone, yet they say they can get it fixed for cheap, but you see them a week later and they still have the same phone with the same damn cracked screen? It's expensive getting those screens replaced and the screen replacement business is booming! But then a new product enters the playing field called “HandL” and those drops that cause cracked screens just might be a thing of the past.

HandL is a smartphone case that features soft-cushioned, faux leather back with an elastic anchor that fits between your fingers, allowing you grip-free access to your mobile device. This gives your phone something of a floaty feel in your hands as you’re capable of holding your device while doing other things such as texting, carrying bags, playing Pokemon Go, or any number of tasks without fear of droppage. The case itself keeps a tight hold of your phone, so there’s little to no chance of it slipping or flying out with whatever it is that you're doing. And when you’re not out and about and just relaxing at home or working at your desk, HandL’s anchor doubles as a kickstand, allowing you rest your phone horizontal or vertical for your viewing pleasure.

I got the chance to test out HandL while at work, using my work phone, which is an iPhone 6 Plus. That’s taking something of a risk, but I did some testing at home with the case beforehand, so I had much confidence that HandL wouldn’t be a problem out in the field. And after a week of playing around with the case, I’m ready to render my verdict in the TOV Breakdown.

The Bang:
If you’re the owner of a 5” or more phablet smartphone, and you consider the device to be unwieldy at times, or if you’re an owner of a cracked screen phone because you couldn’t get a grip on it, then a HandL case is just perfect for you. For me and my work situation, I found the HandL case very useful. I usually keep my phone in a side pouch, but with HandL, I have immediate access, so there's no more fumbling with it in and out of the pouch and there's even less of a worry that it'll slip from my grip. The anchor holds well between my fingers so that I'm capable of doing much more without worry of my device meeting an untimely end. And it’s suitable for the phablet phones so that even the smallest of hands can easily make good use of their device. HandL gets bonus points for selfie users, which makes it easier to hold your phone to get the right shot. And FYI, you can really get creative. Ahem! Regardless of what you do, you simply can’t go wrong with a HandL case.

The Slack:
Currently, HandL only has cases for the iPhone 6 Plus, 6s Plus, and the iPhone 7; I’m a Nexus 6 user about to move on to a Pixel phone, so it would be great to see HandL for other smartphones as well (including Samsung, LG, HTC, etc).

While there are plenty of smartphone cases out on the market to choose from, there’s aren’t too many that’s as unique, comfortable and versatile as a HandL; if you want the freedom to do more while holding your smartphone without the fear of getting the "Cracked Screen of Doom", then this is definitely the way to go. So out of TOV 5 stars, I’m giving HandL a 4.5 and it’s been Valkor tested, TOV Approved!
