Hey gang, Valkor here. You all know about Annabelle, right? That creepy, possessed doll that made her first appearance in the film “The Conjuring”? Well, on August 11th, she’s about to get a sequel from the first “Annabelle” film titled “Annabelle: Creation”. And in celebration of the film’s release, Mezco Toys is launching a collector’s edition of the doll. And last week, in celebration of both the doll and the film, Mezco Toys held a special event at the famous “Ripley’s Believe It or Not!” museum in Times Square. It was short, but not as short as the Nickelodeon event I attended a few days earlier. But it was a whole lot of fun!

This special event wasn’t just for local media, but anyone could partake in the fun. And to start things off, guest were treated to a photo-op with a spooky looking chick, who was really good at her job. Like extremely good! I’m not gonna lie totally I was spooked. Afterward, guests were allowed inside, where they could take in a tour of the museum. Along the way, Mezco hid 13 Annabelle dolls in certain exhibits, and it’s up to each guest to find them; some were in hard to find places, while others you could easily spot. Thankfully, each person was given a map with clues to where each doll can be found, along with an associated letter, all of which spelled out “Anna Believe It”. Once you’re done, Mezco gave out a slew of Annabelle gift items, some that centered on their “Living Dead Doll” line and a fidget spinner. So that’s what’s going down in the streets these days? Fidget spinners? Nickelodeon had a fidget spinner for almost every lineup they were repping. On top of the swag, there were also movie tickets and a chance to win one of the dolls.

In the end, I and others had a blast touring the Ripley Museum and hunting down Annabelles; I hadn’t been to a Ripley’s in years, which was in Atlantic City, and it’s a much bigger spot than the NYC version. It’s always creepy fun checking out all the strange exhibits and finding Annabelle dolls in the oddest of places just amped up the creed factor it up immensely. How will the movie will? Will it be just as scary as the trailers present it? I’ll find out soon enough. And of course, you can expect a full review afterward.
