Hey gang, Valkor here. The Rising of the Shield Hero turned out to be one of my favorite anime of 2019; it features a splendid adventure story, an amazing cast of characters, plus the opening music is mad catchy! I’m such a fan that I’ve purchased many items centered on the anime/manga such as bags, key chains, buttons, and plenty of other knickknacks that I could find. Speaking of which, I’m about to complete Good Smile's Nendoroid Shield Hero trifecta; what started with Naofumi switched over to Raphtalia, and we now move on to Filo (Nendoroid 1295), Naofumi’s 2nd trusty and adorable companion. If you own the first two Shield Hero Nendoroids, then you’ll want to complete the set with this one.

Taken from the company's website:
From the popular anime series "The Rising of the Shield Hero" comes a Nendoroid of the Filolial Queen Filo in her human form! She comes with three face plates including a standard expression, an excited smiling expression with closed eyes and a combat expression.

On the one hand, I like how the Filo Nendoroid doesn’t come with too many accessories; in the box, you get various hand poses and items that Filo can hold, such as fish or meat sticks. But the parts the figure does come with are rather small, and if you’re not paying attention or in a rush to get her out of the box, you could lose a piece or three. Most of the parts that Filo comes with are centered on her hands, and I love you can put her in an attack mode with her power fists. Along with the different hand poses, you also get two additional faceplates, with my favorite being the combat expression. However, I rather enjoy the initial plate, which is the one I used for my images.

I’m not sure if it was my figure, but I hard time trying to get the stick to stay in Filo's back while posing her on the plate. Once it was in and I thought it was firmly in place, it would pop out. Eventually, with some twisting and a little force, the pose stick fit in and stayed in, so I limited the poses I put Filo in into something of a flight pose. I should have attempted more, but I felt, with my clumsy hands, I probably would have broken the thing. Last, I'll admit, I had more fun with Naofumi than with Filo; maybe because Naofumi’s figure had way cooler accessories and the various shields to play with. Filo is cool too, but I think maybe The Good Smile Company could have done more with her figure. Like they could have included her egg or other evolutions. Just something more than what we got.

But let’s stick a pin in my negative thoughts, and I’ll say that The Good Smile Company's Filo Nendoroid is worth picking up, especially if you want to complete the Shield Hero trifecta. I love the Filo figure as she looks great alongside her companions. Plus, she’s so damn adorable. How could one resist? So, out of TOV 5 stars, I’m giving Nendoroid 1295 Filo a solid 4.
