Hey gang, Valkor here. Though the weather on the east coast is still chilly, things are about to warm up. And when that happens, then you know what time it is–time to whip out the BBQ for some outdoorsie fun! But you can’t get the party started without some beats. So, the folks over at Scosche have you covered with their latest Bluetooth outdoor speaker, the BoomBottle MM, which is not just an amazing speaker, but also comes with a couple of nifty gimmicks that enhance your event. Let’s check it out!
The BoomBottle MM is an upright speaker, which is small enough that someone can place it anywhere just about for their listening pleasure. The primary controls are on the back flap of the device, starting with the initial volume and power button. Turning on the device produces an amazing sound that I wish I could use as my notification alert on my phone (turning it off is just as cool). Once you open the back panel, you’ll find the same power and volume buttons along with a USB-C port for charging the speaker and an auxiliary output port in case you have a device that’s not Bluetooth enabled. Or you want to save the battery life on a device with Bluetooth.
So then the next question is, what does the MM in the name stand for? Well, it stands for Magic Mount, which is a magnetic panel included with the speaker. I can place the magic mount on most flat panels, which I can then lock onto the speaker. Do you want it under a cupboard, horizontal against a wall, or somewhere in a room where it’ll seem like an odd location, but it’s perfect for your listening pleasure? Then the MM has you covered! And when the BoomBottle connects, it’s then locked firm, so it won’t simply fall out of place.
But the BoomBottle has one extra feature I found the most fun compared to most speakers reviewed here at TOV–it has a bottle opener attached! And let me tell you that in the house of Val, there’s never one around when needed! So, as long as you’ve got the BoomBottle speaker, either home or away, you’ll never have to go hunting down a bottle opener!
To finish things out, the BoomBottle can link with another BoomBottle to give it a more immersive experience. Sorry, I only have one speaker, so I’m unable to check this feature, though it would be amazing! Finally, the speaker is water and dust-proof, so it can take some damage and still keep going! So, with that out of the way, let’s dip into the TOV Breakdown and see if the BoomBottle is worth the price of admission! However, by the editor’s choice award, you already know!
The Bang:
The BoomBottle is compact enough that it slips easily into most pockets. However, I find that it is not the size that matters, as the speaker packs quite an audio punch! And that's really what it's all about! The bass and treble are nicely balanced, plus you can put it on full blast without there being too much distortion; the BoomBottle isn't so loud that it'll shake the house down. However, the speaker is loud enough that you can vibe to some of your favorite beats without missing a beat! The vocals come across as crisp and clean that you can easily make out the instruments in the backdrop. Next up, I find the magic mount a bonus considering where I'd place the speaker. However, I feel that it’s an unnecessary gimmick, which is not a negative towards the device because I like the idea. But I’m sure I'd forget about it as I find the BoomBottle as more of a pick-up-and-go kind of speaker. And when in the cave, I can stand it on most flat surfaces without nary a thought of using the magnetic placeholder. This is Scosche’s first time in the Val-Cave and they’ve scored a big win with their BoomBottle MM Bluetooth speaker! You not only get amazing sound quality in a compact design, but it comes packed with a bunch of features that not only make it worth the purchase but it kicks off your summer just right!

Scosche BoomBottle MM is one speaker you’ll want to add to your summer repertoire as you not only get a speaker that has outstanding sound quality–indoors and out–but the bottle opener, magic mount, and other features make this one speaker worth picking up!
