• 2Breathe Soft-Tone Pillow Speaker Review

Hey gang, Valkor here. I’m certain we’ve all gone through those nights where sleep seems to avoid us; whether it’s stress related or your mind going on overtime, something is making it so you can’t enter that wonderful dreamland you so desperately want. And while there’s plenty of methods out on the market that help to induce sleep – counting sheep, taking some type of medication, or drinking an herbal tea and/or alcohol to help you relax, my personal favorites and many such as myself go to method is music, which relates to the new company to enter the cave called 2Breathe. And they have something that’ll help with the struggles of going night-night with their product the “Soft-Tones Pillow Speaker”.

Soft-Tone Pillow

The Soft-Tones Pillow Speaker is exactly what it sounds like – it’s a long-shaped pillow with a flat middle and two mounds on either side that is the speakers. There’s an extra long cable that comes with the Soft-Tone, which plugs in through the back of the pillow, with the other end plugging into your preferable device (i.e. Smartphone, tablet, or gaming device). You then load up your favorite station or songs and let the beats carry you off to slumberville. And when you’re done, the Soft-Tone can be folded up and stored in the included carry case, which makes it perfect to take along on your journeys or you can take it away, neatly in a drawer. The cover of the Soft-Tone can be removed for cleaning purposes, which is good especially if you’re a messy sleeper (I’m looking at you droolers out there). And best of all, the Soft-Tone pillow doesn’t require batteries! You simply plug and play wherever you decide to rest!

To test out the Soft-Tone, I started out with some jazz beats; nothing too heavy that would get me excited, but something soft and mellow. But it dawned on me to try something I’ve never done before – I hit up YouTube looking for “sounds of the forest” type videos, which there is no short supply! And I chose one with a length of ten hours. The Soft-Tone pillow works in that you rest your head between the two speakers, which then immerses you in whatever audio you choose. So, selecting “sounds of the forest” was a no-brainer, especially in High-Definition, because it actually sounds like you’re there. And since I sleep with a fan on (doesn’t matter the season), it only added to the experience.

I also took my testing a bit further than just using the Soft-Tone Pillow to help me sleep; since I also enjoy gaming while I’m just chilling in bed, I plugged in my 3DS to see where that would take me. And suffice to say that worked out just fine. But I’m getting ahead of myself, so let’s delve a little deeper as we dive into the TOV Breakdown!

The Bang:

I’ve only tested one other sleep assist device and that was the “SleepPhones” headphones. And my main issue with that was the cord, which was a little too short. However, you’ll get none of that with the Soft-Tone Pillow Speaker. It comfortably rests behind your neck, immersing you with soft yet incredible sound quality! No matter what piece of audio you choose to help you sleep, you can rest assured that It’ll come through crystal clear that it'll get you through the night – or the day if that’s when you’re taking it down. I really enjoyed the sounds of the forest or raining/storm pieces because, with the Soft-Tone pillow, it really sounds like you’re in that environment. On the gaming side, the Soft-Tone Pillow makes for the perfect accessory when you’re looking to chill without wearing headphones. And this is mostly due to the extra long cable that’s included with the product; depending on what action is taking place on screen, we’ve all done the sudden jerk from time to time. So my biggest fear was being disconnected when that happens. Thankfully, the cable never dislodged during my testing. And I purposefully went for some pretty wide movements. Lastly, the Soft-Tone Pillow makes for the perfect travel accessory as its small enough to fit in most carryon or personal bags. But I’d keep the use of the pillow limited when traveling on a plane as to not disturb your seatmate. In the end, whether you’re at home or on the go, 2Breathe’s Soft-Tone Pillow makes for the perfect sleep companion. And it also makes for the perfect gift this holiday season or any occasion!
