• 1More Spearhead VR BT In-Ear Headphones Review

Hey gang, Valkor here. By now, if you don't know the name 1More, are you truly a gamer or gaming enthusiast? Probably. But you're missing out on the audio side if you haven't at least tried the Spearhead VR Gaming Headphones. Well, 1More is back in the Val-cave with their latest headsets – the Spearhead VR BT In-Ear Headphones! And while they may be smaller in size, they make up for it in big sound!

The Spearhead VR BT (Bluetooth) headphones, on the outset, features a behind-the-neck hanging design similar to that of the 'House of Marley Smile Jamaica”; all of the controls on the VR BT are incorporated on the left side. There you'll find the power/pairing and volume buttons, as well as a microphone, and microUSB port (for charging the device). Once you've pressed/held the power/pairing button, you're greeted to a crystal clear voice of “1More” as well as a female voice that alerts you when you're "pairing" and “connected” as well indicating the device's battery levels. To complete the look, the VR BT earbuds have LED lighting with four presets you can change through an app.

Speaking of the app, 1More takes things to the next level by introducing the “1More Assistant” app. Here you can play with the light settings, which you have four presets to choose from (no light, constant bright, heartbeat, or breath). Afterward, you can play with the equalizer, where you can either choose between nine modes or select “customize” and find the settings that are perfect for you. You can also do something called a “smart burn-in”. I've been looking into this and supposedly if you leave the headphones running for a certain amount of time, it's supposed to flex the drivers and improve audio quality. I've never heard of it and I'm not about ready to try it. Maybe one day. But not today.

The 1More Spearhead VR BT headphones are supposed to be all about the gaming – especially mobile games. So, to flex the headset's muscles, I took it to town on my Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and a few mobile games such as “Dead Trigger 2”, switching things over to the PlayStation Vita. Overall, how do the Spearhead VR BT headphones fare in the TOV Breakdown? Let's find out!

The Bang:

As impressed as I was with 1More's VR Gaming headsets, I have to say I'm equally impressed with their Spearhead VR BT Headphones. Sound quality is crystal clear, with a rich bass and exceptional clarity. Vocals come across clear either through gaming, music, or even having a conversation, you're gonna hear every word, every cry, every whimper... too far? On the gaming side, the sound quality is amazing and the headphones really give you that immersive experience; you won't miss a bullet blazing by, zombies hiding in whatever corner, lurching towards you, or even vehicles speeding by. And even at the highest volumes, there's no distortion. On the comfort side, the earbuds fit just right and were perfect for long stretches of gaming, movie watching, or just chilling and listening to some tunes with any discomfort. Finally, I have to give points to the design as 1More kept the visual flow going from the big cans to the smaller headphones with the lighting. And while you can't change the color of the lighted earbuds, the overall presentation looks very gamer-centric. In the end, if you're looking to take your mobile gaming to the next level, then you'll definitely want to invest in a pair of 1More Spearhead VR BT headphones. They not only look great but they sound amazing as well!
