Hey folks, Valkor here and I sit through the cheese so you don’t
have to. But sometimes even in a pile of cheese one can find gold,
and I found me a nice, shiny nugget of a film with an excellent
cast and some brutality I haven’t seen on screen in sometime.
Check it out it’s called “Stiletto”.
Stiletto is all about a young Russian gal named Raina (Stana Katic) who sets off on a killing spree taking out men connected to her former lover, Greek Mob crime boss named Virgil Vadalos (Tom Berenger). Right at the beginning of the film she takes him out and a latino crime boss. But Virgil lives and hires Officer Beck (Paul Sloan) to find the girl. As Sloan tracks down Raina, bodies start appearin all over, there only link is a Nazi tattoo. But all roads lead to Virgil as he, Raina and Beck face off and the big question of why Raina is on this bloody trek gets answered.
Oh and I can’t forget to mention Kelly Hu, who plays Beck cop partner/girlfriend Hanover. But she’s barely in the film and her demise… well see for yourself.

Yea, that’s how hard this film is.
The Good
Oh the humanity!! This flick is fuckin hardcore with a capital H! Seriously this film holds nothing back when it comes to the gore; you’ll gasp, your cringe, you’ll piss your fuckin pants! See that pick of what happens to Kelly Hu’s character? Yea you get much more than that! I shit you not! The plot’s pretty good too; it gets kinds scattered towards the middle as additional characters start poppin up such as Mah man “Large Bills” (Tom Sizemore) and skinhead leader Engelhart (James Russo), but it all fits perfectly at the end. And speaking of endings… yea that’s all I gotta say about that. I mean normally I HATE the sort of ending this film ended with, but in this case, yea I’m feelin it.
The Bad
Though I give huge ups to the cast, the acting was definite cheese of the blue variety; it looks good, taste good, but sheesh it’s ripe! An extra dose goes to Tom Sizemore’s “Large Bills” who tosses on an extra helping. Oh and not to be nitpicky, but there’s a scene where Raina and Beck meet; she just too out Bills and runs off screen, Beck shows up, checks out the scene and starts backing up, only to have Raina appear behind him and take his gun. She pushes him to the ground and his head starts gushin. REALLY!!!??? From that little push??
The Ugly
Not a boob in the place. Lots of teasin with a scene at a go-go club and freaking Penny (Amanda Brooks) getting “Girls Gone Wild” but she’s wearin a bra that covers everything. Sad…. Just sad. Oh and the tranny scene just before Large Bills enters the scene… YUCK!
For every guy out there who loves their film with a lot of action, a heapin dose of suspense, and an ending that’s gratifying then definitely give “Stiletto” a shot. Out of TOV 5 stars, I’m givin the film 4 stars simply for the scenes that make you go “OOOOOOHHHHHHH!!!” take another look at Kelly Hu and see what you’re getting.
