• Ubisoft Press event 2011

Hey folks, Valkor here. The gang over at Ubisoft are back in town to show off some hot new titles. And if you're a fan of the original "Just Dance", then this is right up your alley. Held at the Empire Hotel, it wasn't just an event for media to try out the game, but club goers got the chance to experience it as well. Believe me it was loads of fun not only looking at the games from a press perspective, but also seeing how others react as well. It wasn't too crowded and I got the chance to mix it up with some interesting people. I also wanna thank mah dude @ 2D-X, along with a host of other friends who made the event that much more eventful.

And now, on with the gaming.

The Black Eyed Peas Experince (Xbox 360, Wii) - Ubisoft is bringing all the moves, the looks, the flava, and the experience of the Black Eyed Peas to your living room in an awesome dance game. Much like the "Just Dance" titles you'll go move for move with the Peas as you try to keep up and match their signature style of dance (with some new moves arranged by the Peas themselves) to some of their best hits such as – Boom, Boom, Pow, Time of My Life, Don't Phunk With My Heart, among other songs. The Peas themselves are represented beautifully well; their onscreen personas match their real-life counterparts, the animation is fluid and the moves are so smooth. I was a bit skittish at first, trying out a Just Dance title for the first time, and while I was a bit sloppy I can see the fun in this. The version I got to try out was for the Kinect, but there's also a Wii version in the works. What no Sony move? Anyway enjoy this TOV of the game in action as hottie dancer gets that Boom, Boom, Pow. Oh yea... I gotta git dat!

Abba: You Can Dance (Nintendo Wii) - Now I'm not what you would call the biggest Abba fan, however there are fans of the group. And though the music dates back to the 70's, it's still quite popular today thanks to the Broadway hit "Mamma Mia". And much like the "Michael Jackson Experience" on the Wii, you can dance and wave your Wii-mote controller to tune of some of Abba's greatest tunes such as "Fernando", "Dancing Queen", and "Gimmie, Gimmie, Gimmie". Now I had more fun with BEP, but this Abba game is somethin special. Controls are responsive and I hit my target moreso than I did with the BEP game. Check out the hottie dancer below to sample this unique experience.

Also on hand was "Just Dance 3", "Just Dance Kids", and hidden somewhere was "Michael Jackson the Experience" for the Kinect (I'm sorry I missed that one as big an MJ fan as I am). I did have a Just Dance 3 vid, but it didn't come out as well as I'd like. But I'll get to chance to check out the titles I missed next round with Ubisoft. Until then you can expect these games to come out just in time for the holiday season.
