• Best of Whose Line is it Anyway? DVD Review

Hey folks, Valkor here. You know putting together a compilation, whether it’s music, movies, or even gaming, is a little like cheating; basically a company is getting you buy something you either already own or can watch/listen/play for free. But sometimes you’ll get a compilation that puts it all together, making totally worth the purchase. Thanks to Warner Home, we’re getting a simple yet totally kick ass comp, with the best improv show on TV “Whose Line Is It Anyway?”

Whose Line Is It Anyway

The show is quite simple, take four very good improv comics and one funny host, put them in front of a studio audience, and have them perform off the cuff - no nets, no scripts, everything is straight out their mind and in your face for your enjoyment. That’s the jist of Whose Line, hosted by Drew Carrey. On this 2-disc, 10 episode set, Drew and his usual suspects Colin Mochrie, Ryan Stiles, and Wayne Brady pair up with different comedian to bring you the laughs. Plus special guest such as David Hasselhoff, Florence Henderson, Richard Simmons, a sexy body builder (Of the woman variety you numbskulls) and a sexy group of cheerleaders, bringing it all together for one hilarious set. Included is an hour long special recapping the first two seasons… and that’s just about it.

So what did I think?

Whose Line Is It Anyway

The Good

Seriously? I couldn’t stop laughing! No seriously, I mean it, I could not stop laughing! This DVD set is so funny you won’t see a spot where things are slow, or the jokes are too dry. Ryan Stiles and Colin Mochrie really carry most of the show, Wayne Brady is definitely good for some laughs, but the special guests put things over the top. The Richard Simmon’s episode is by far the funniest on the set, and I won’t tell you what he does but yea, it’s really outrageous. The one extra definitely keeps the laughs going, but when it’s over, you’ll be quick to replay the DVD over again.

The Bad

The fact that it’s only ten episodes. Seriously, I didn’t want the laughs to end. Also more highlights of other episodes would have been freaking sweet.
