Ah L'amour! February 14th marks the day when girls get all gussied up for a big night of receiving flowers, candy, dinner, and dancing. And us guys... well we wait until the night ends for some of that good good. So when the lights go dim and the mood is just right… the folks at Warner Home hope you'll pop in this DVD showcasing the finest, smoothest, pimpest character on the planet. I'm talking Looney Tunes Super Stars Pe Pe le Pew Collection DVD. For PePe, the word "no doesn't even exist in his vocabulary.
PePe Le Pew is a skunk like no other. He's always trying to get with the ladies… and a few dudes that happen to look like ladies, but he can't tell the difference because PePe has love fogged eyes; all he sees are sexy female skunks – and when he has them in his sights, they'll find it isn't so easy to put the brakes on this persistent skunk. This single disc DVD features 17 classic favorites, all centered on love ravaged PePe save for one where he makes a cameo appearance. So let's take a whiff at a few highlights included on the disc.
Odor-able Kitty – The kitty in this vid is tired of being kicked around. But when he decides to disguise himself as a skunk, he has a whole new problem to deal with – one love starved skunk named PePe.
The Cats Bah – PePe is being interviewed about his love affairs. And he regales a story of one particular kitty love affair.
Heaven Scent – Similar to "Odor-Able Kitty", the cat in this short is tired of being kicked about by dogs, so she paints a white stripe down her back to make like a skunk. Enter one PePe Le Pew and the chase is on.
Odor of the Day – the dog in this short is trying his best to come in out of the cold. When he stumbles of the home of PePe, someone is about to get evicted.
Who Scent You? – Kitty wants to take a cruise, but no cats are allowed. However she sneaks on, but not before getting her white stripe, squeaking under a wet painted fence. The seas are about to get bumpy when kitty has to deal with a love sick skunk named PePe.
No additional extras are on the disc, save for a few trailers. And now my cabbages, let's see how the power of unstoppable love fares in the TOV Breakdown.
Sure Bugs is great, Daffy is good for a laugh or two, and even Sylvester and Tweety can get in a chuckle or two. But there's nothing like watching the antics of a horny skunk as he persistently attempts to snag some tail. Sure it's repetitious, but it's funny! And PePe's antics stink so good. It makes you wonder how Chuck Jones and co could come up with so many ways to paint a white stripe on a cat, but the outcome of it all is pure hilarity and the jokes never get old. The shorts are presented in 4:3 and you're given a choice of either full or wide screen. Picture quality is amazing, with some grain and scratches in a couple of episodes. Colors are bold and eyepoppingly beautiful, and the audio crisp and clear. Great job!
Watching PePe antics through adult eyes, especially one with a perverted mind such as mine, takes on a whole new meaning.
Looney Super Stars PePe Le Pew Collection is available now and is the perfect Valentine's Day treat to enjoy before the uhhmmmmm… real "magic" happens *hint, hint. wink, wink*. PePe is a lover like no other and his actions on this disc are most welcomed... even they're stalker creepy. So out of TOV 5 stars, PePe's collection gets a 4 and it's been Valkor Viewed, TOV Approved.
