• Cypress Hill "Rise Up" Review

Welcome my fellow music lovers; I am your friendly neighborhood reporter Epic-1! So I know music has been tried before and I am going to try and keep up with it this time because I love music from Afu-Ra to ZZ Top and everything in between I listen to it all Alternative, Club, Rock, Classical, Opera, but my love is definitely Hip Hop. So with my first music review I am doing Cypress Hill's latest album "Rise Up".

Cypress Hill Rise Up

For all those who have been living in a cave since 1989, Cypress Hill has been putting out hit after hit for all to enjoy. And everyone from Hip Hop heads to Rockers has embraced them. Now with their eighth album it's business as usual and I am here to open your ears.

First we have my absolute favorite on the album "Armada Latina" featuring Pitbull and Marc Anthony - now that combination alone deserves a nod. But the track itself is great; it talks about how we Latinos came up from struggles of the past and how we are featured prominently now. Next is "I Unlimited" - the beats will have you bouncing and jumping like the song indicates and have you blasting the song from your speakers.

Then with the track like "Take My Pain" featuring Everlast (formerly from House of Pain and now in La Coka Nostra), you get to understand B-Real and the pain in his life when he just wants the lord to take it all away. He speaks about growing up in the streets when he was younger, people not believing in him, how some of his family and friends passed away and how his relationship is with his family.

"Bang Bang"," Get it Anyway", "Carry Me Away (featuring Mike Shinoda from Linkin Park)", It Ain't Nothing featuring Young De (he is an up and coming artist who is being protégé by B-Real and is very good) round out this impressive CD. And with 15 tracks on the album and production from people like DJ Muggs, Mike Shinoda, Jim Jonsin, Pete Rock and DJ Khalil, and features Tom Morello from "Rage Against the Machine", plus others I am sure you will like some that I didn't mention. My least favorite on the album is "Pass the Dutch" featuring Evidence and The Alchemist; this track was a little disappointing to me personally because I actually like Evidence and Alchemist and I thought this would be my favorite track but I also know that they can all do so much better and that is why this is my least favorite but the song is ok and I know there will be people who love this track. Cypress Hill is a leader in the West Coast and in all of Hip Hop and with "Rise Up" they show that they'll be around for a long time. And out of TOV 5 stars I'm giving the album 4.5 stars and it's been Epic-1 tested and TOV approved!
