Hello my fellow Epicians, It is your friendly neighborhood reporter Epic-1 here at I have another review for you. This time we go to the Universal Soldier franchise and dig up former stars Jean-Claude Van Damme, and Dolph Lundgren mix it up with a little Andrei "The Pit Bull" Arlovski and you have a sweet pile of crap.

Regeneration starts off great; they show two kids being kidnapped with a big amount of gun fire and action. We find out that these kids are a small piece of the picture as General Boris (Aki Avni) wants his fellow comrades let go within 72 hours or else. The "or else" is the fact that he has taken over the Chernobyl Nuclear Plant and has placed a bomb on tanker 3 that has more lethal gas in it that can kill so many people. The U.S. sends some soldiers along with Unisols (Universal Soldiers) to try and quell the situation, but they have an NGU (Next Generation Unisol, Andrei Arlovski) who quickly kills all the Unisols. The U.S. then decides to put back in active duty the best Unisol Luc Deveraux (Jean-Claude Van Damme) to go into this place, rescue the kids, and deactivate the bomb. While all this is happening, Dr. Colin (Kerry Shale) awakens his second NGU - a clone of Andrew Scott (Dolph Lundgren). This clone quickly kills General Boris, then turns on Dr. Colin and kills him as well. The movie goes on and we see a soldier by the name of Capt. Kevin Burke (Mile Pyle) rescuing the kids and gets caught by the first NGU. The fight is good but short. Moving on we see a fight between Luc and Andrew, which is pretty good. Finally we have the final battle between Luc and the NGU. The ending of the movie shows Capt. Burke being put into a body bag then a few seconds later we see him inside a freezer along with clones of himself.

The Good
Regenerations stays true to the original Universal Soldier. We get to see the feud between Luc and Andrew once again. We did not see Van Damme's split, thank you God!!!

The Bad
With so much new technology that we have why did they not use more special effects? Regeneration was dull and boring. Everyone's acting was horrible and I mean everyone. The story was so predictable and the action was all at the end of the movie. We have three fight scenes back to back to back and the movie is done. They could have spread the fight scenes a little.

The Ugly
Regeneration as a whole was just to long for nothing and if they are thinking of making another let me give them a word of advice DON'T!! Unless you are going to update the movie to present time and not forget the other Universal Soldier movies this movie franchise will die.

So in conclusion, do not go out and buy Universal Soldiers: Regeneration, it is a waste of time. I am giving the film 1 star out of 5.
