Hey gang, Valkor here. From the moment I began TOV up until the present day, I’ve racking up hundreds of air miles and plenty of hotel stays, whether it’s to attend a convention or other related event. And from those humble beginnings up until today, the number of pieces of tech that I carry with me has grown to a considerable rate. It’s to the point that I feel it necessary to bring a surge protector on some of my longer stints simply because most hotels don’t have enough outlets to accommodate my power needs. Enter Ventev with their third item from the "Pepcom Holiday showcase" that is about to take TOV center stage – the rq600 USB Charginghub. And if you’ve ever found yourself lacking in ports to power up your devices, then this is the item for you!

The rq600 is a small, lightweight block that sports dark gray/light gray tones, which features 6 USB ports at its front and a wall port at the rear. Of the 6 USB ports, one of them is a “dedicated Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0” port, which if your smart device makes use of it, you have that option. The rq600 uses auto-detect technology, which will allow it to disperse power towards the devices based upon their capacity. In my case, I plugged into the rq600 my PS Vita, Nexus 6 and 7, A Nokia Lumia 928 and an iPhone 6s Plus, each with varying degrees of battery loss (none completely drained). The Nexus 6 filled up the quickest, with the others reaching maximum charge within a short period of time (I’d say one hour/ hour and a half).

There are different scenarios where the rq600 would be most useful:
- In a full house where almost everyone has one or more portable devices
- Or when guest come over to visit, and they need to top-up
- A kid going off to dorm, with limited outlets
- Staying in a hotel, again with limited outlet space
- In an airport, when you’ve found a port but you need to charge multiple devices (make sure you don’t leave it behind)
- Or a bartender can keep one handy for people who are always asking “can I charge my phone?”

There are so many uses for Ventev’s rq600, more so than the situations I’ve mentioned here. The folks at Ventev saw a need and answered the call in filling that need for those of us who require such a product in our daily lives. Does it garner the company another gold win? You already know, but I’ll tell you more about it in the TOV Breakdown.

The Bang:
Whether you’re at home or on the go, and your life is filled with various devices such as a smartphone, smartwatch, tablets, portable gaming or any number of items that takes up a USB port. You’ll need to invest in a hub that can handle the load, especially if you’re short on outlets. And Ventev’s rq600 Charginghub is just the device that can handle such a task; rather than have all your devices scattered about, you can keep everything contained in one area. The rq600 is small enough that it doesn’t get in the way, whether it’s resting on a counter or desktop. And it doesn’t look unsightly, rather it's very professional until you’re using up all six ports. Then it becomes a big mess of wires. It’s easily portable so you can take it along with you for work or travel. The dedicated Quick Charge port does its duty, allowing me to plug in my Nexus 6 and gets me going with “the quickness” (pun intended). Plus, while my other items are plugged in, they won’t take a hit as the charginghub does a fine job of dishing out the power, charging all of my devices within a reasonable amount of time. Finally, I would have thought the rq600 would heat up to blazing levels when all ports were filled. However, I was surprised that after a couple of hours, it was only warm to the touch. In the end, Ventev’s rq600 Charginghub is definitely what you’ll need, when life hands you one too many devices that require a boost!

The Slack:
The cost “might” give some folks pause, but I think it’s worth it.

With the holidays well on the way, and many folks out there will be asking Santa for a new phone, tablet or maybe both and then some; either way, you’re gonna need a device where you can not only plug everything in at once, but it can also handle the load. And that’s where the Ventev rq600 Charginghub steps in. If you’d like to learn more about it as well as Ventev’s other products, then simply click the logo to the right. And out of TOV 5 stars, I’m giving the rq600 Charginghub a perfect 5. And it’s been Valkor tested, TOV approved!
