• Fuse Chicken Une Bobine Flexible Stand Review

Hey gang, Valkor here. And after taking a little hiatus from TOV, I’m back in the game; a little older, a little wiser but still the same old me who enjoys the site, everything involved with it and those who’ve come to visit to show us some lovings. My first stop on the TOV review path takes me over to TechView where new company, Fuse Chicken, gets their chance on the Val-cave chopping block with their latest product - the Une Bobine charge/sync/stand/dock cable that has found success in the kickstarter world. But is it truly ready for prime time? Let’s find out.

Une Bobine

As I said above, the Une Bobine is the “everything” cable that every iPhone 5/5s/5c user shouldn’t do without. The Une Bobine is a thin, 24” metal cable that’s flexible yet firm. It can be twisted and contorted into a variety of positions to meet your desired level of comfort and/or use. The shots I took will give you an idea of just a few ways we went when testing out the product, but there were some other fun positions as well rather than the standard snake coil. On one end is your USB port that can plug into any USB outlet or you can use it with a wall adapter. And on the opposite end there’s a Lightning Connector. Not only is the cable good for charging, but also syncing so you can upload/download new materials to and from your device.

As for using the cable as a stand or dock, it does a better job than most docks/stands on the market because you can position it at certain levels for optimal viewing, depending on where or how you’re sitting. It’s perfect for any desktop in that way you can keep track of your incoming calls at a glance, without reaching for your device. Or you can check messages, stats, scores, emails, face-time or whatever it is you do on your smartphone. I promise, I won’t ask.

Une Bobine

The Une Bobine is one of the more interesting products to venture into the cave and I went with two concerns: first, would the cable be firm enough to withstand the weight of an iPhone? And two, would the cable be flexible enough to place in a variety of positions? Though I kind of answered those questions above, let's delve a little deeper with the TOV Breakdown.

Une Bobine

The Bang:

If you’re looking for a solid stand/sync/charger accessory for your iPhone, then an investment into a Une Bobine should be in your future. It’s fun yet professional, so it can be used in a variety of settings (classroom, office, on campus, etc). It’s perfect for travel, thanks to its coiling ability the Une Bobine can easily fit in most travel bags with ease. And because of its metal body, there’s no worries about having a cable that’s accidently cut or begins to wear. The Une Bobine is firm yet flexible enough that you can twist and contort it in a variety of ways and it’ll hold your phone in most positions with no problem – and that’s where the fun lies, especially for the little ones, but adults can also appreciate this function as well. Though you can play with the shapes, for best use, coil it a couple of times for stability purposes. Other than that, Une Bobine makes for one solid, all-around cable iPhone fans can and will enjoy.

The Slack:

Speaking of stability, you might run into some when using the cable. If you keep it at a standard coil, it should be fine; it’s only when you get into the more outrageous designs where you may see some stability issues. If you don’t use the coil/double coil then you may want to use the cable on a solid surface to save from tipping.

Une Bobine

Fuse Chicken’s Une Bobine is available now and if you’re looking to replace your standard iPhone cable, to something with some meat to it then look no further, you’ve found it. It’s sturdy yet flexible, has a decent length, can sit in a variety of ways and it gives you hands-free functionality when you need it. I highly recommend it. And out of TOV 5 stars, I give the Une Bobine a 4 and it’s been Valkor tested, TOV Approved.
