• The Luxury Technology Show 2017 NYC Event

Hey gang, Valkor here. It’s a new year and a new cycle of events is upon us! It has always been my pleasure, as your guide, in checking out the hottest items being showcased from around the country. Maybe one day from around the world. Until that time, let’s check out one my favorite events - The Luxury Tech Show. While the room was smaller than usual, there certainly were no shortage of big ticket items and some that were well with a reason of purchase. So let’s take a look at a few, shall we? Also, if you’re interested in learning more about the companies and their products, simply click their name.

The Luxury Tech Show

LightStim – Taken from the company’s website: LightStim LED light therapy delivers light energy in a similar way plants absorb light energy from the sun. LightStim emits UV-free, beneficial light rays that energize cells and stimulate the body's natural process to build new proteins and regenerate cells. All three LightStim products were on hand – pain, acne, and wrinkles. And as a bonus, we were shown a LightStim bed, which looks something like a tanning bed. Personally, I’m more drawn to pain, but I can see the benefit of all three.

MrSpeakers – If there’s one thing TOV covers well, its headphones; and any opportunity to try out a new pair is met with gusto. Right next to the LightStim table was “MrSpeakers”, who were showing off their latest – the Aeon planar headphones. The headphones were very lightweight, appeared durable, and the sound quality from using their devices came across pretty amazing. And while I didn’t get the chance to experience it, right next to the MrSpeakers table was a VR gaming company, using the Aeon as part of their demo. So it would seem the Aeon looks to give you the best audio experience all around. Solid!

ManCan – Now how would you like to have a personal keg of beer, no matter where you go? That’s the idea behind “ManCan” (love the name). ManCan comes in a 64 or 128 oz keg, you bring it to any brewery, fill ‘er up and enjoy the goodness either indoors or out. These are also good to take along to beer events and tastings. I mean, why not bring home some of that deliciousness to enjoy at your leisure right?

Echobox (Website wasn’t working at the time of this piece) – If you bring this little item to work, people might get mad suspicious of that flask you’re carrying. But if they look a little closer they’ll see that the Echobox Explorer is anything but a flask to hold your liquid stress reliever. This is a pretty nifty looking media player with a wooden shell, built around a modified Android OS. But at its core, the Echobox is a pretty powerful audio player, with amazing sound quality played through the company’s own branded headphones. I chose to try out the Traveler and I have to say I was impressed.

TidalForce – If I were to give a product “Best of Show”, TidalForce Planar headphones would be the one! From the demo given, these headphones offer superior quality sound like no other! The headphones were lightweight and it appeared they could take a beating. But the sound quality is where it’s at. And when I slipped on the TidalForce with the voice of Harry Connick Jr. greeting me with all his musical charm, I was instantly swept away. I’m talking super clear vocals with the perfect amount of bass and treble that’ll make your toes curl!

Vifa – Here’s a funny story; so I’m hanging out with the folks at Vifa, or someone who I thought was with the company. He had his phone paired to the Oslo Bluetooth speaker, belting out some Prince, which gets insta-props from me because it all sounded amazing. But as it turns out the guy wasn’t with Vifa, he was just a guy hogging the Bluetooth! Yet, I can’t be mad at him as he was churning out some mad hits that showed off the power of the speakers. Along with the Oslo, Vifa brought along the Helsinki and the Copenhagen; each one designed differently, but all sporting that same cloth appearance. And I have to say, they look and sound magnificent!

ZEEQ – This is the everything smart pillow the world needs, especially if you’re having many a restless night; the ZEEQ pillow performs several functions – it streams music, tracks, records, and analysis your sleeping habits, and also reacts to your snoring making all those mornings when you wake up groggy and weary a thing of the past! The outer covering is also machine washable, plus you can either add more stuffing or take away, whichever makes your more comfortable. Now if only there were a pillow that would always have a cool side…

BlackBerry – What do you get when you mix a touch display with a physical keyboard, a user-friendly interface, all wrapped around one of the best, secured phones in the world? Why you’d have the latest from BlackBerry – the KEYone. It’s pretty sleek scrolling through all of the phones options, and it comes packed with plenty of familiar BlackBerry apps for those who are used to their playground. I’m gonna go light on the specs until we can run a full review. Until then, who said BlackBerry was out of the game?

Sol Republic – Another company that would easily get “Best in Show” in my book; and if you’re gonna go wireless, you gotta get up on some AMPS Air! No wires at all, the earbuds easily pair with one another using bluetooth and the case not only acts as storage, but it also doubles as a battery pack. And did I mention they sound fantastic with just the right amount of everything!
