Hey folks, Valkor here. You iPad, iPod owners have a lot to be thankful for this season - thankful that a company such as Speck has got plenty of products for you to choose from, when it comes to making your favorite smartphone/tablet look good. And TOV has two items in particular that you'll wanna take some interest in - Speck's CandyShell case for the iPad and GRIP for the iPod Touch 4.

First, let's take a look at the CandyShell for the iPad; this baby touts a nice, glossy, hard shell coating for the iPad that not only acts as a decorative cover, but also protects the back from scratches. The inner rubber lining gives the iPad a comfortable fit, which also makes it difficult to shake loose. On top of it all, the case comes equipped with a kickstand, so you can queue up your favorite image or movie and rather than having to hold the iPad, you can now rest it on a table or desk. The Shell comes in a wide variety of colors to choose from, and though I didn't get that one to review, I am particular to the BatWing Black.

Next up is the CandyShell Grip. And this one is especially for all you gamers out there who wanna maximize playability on your iPod Touch (4th Generation). The GRIP case fits snuggly around the Touch, holding it in securely, with a nice rubber lining on the inside. On the outside you get the CandyShell coating plus four rubber grips, optimally place where you hold your Touch when you game, making it virtually slip-proof, even when your hands are at their sweatiest due to some intense gaming. (Are there intense games on the iPod Touch???).

Since I don't have either a Touch or an iPad, I had to seek out those that do, which gives them some sweet swag and I get some playtime on their equipment... No that doesn't sound gay at all.
The Bang:
There's not much else to say, the CandyShell for the iPad and the iTouch are the perfect blend of design and functionality. Not only do they make your item look good, they give you great protection. Plus the iPad CandyShell has that kickstand, which you can't deny, is a great feature. The GRIP is great thanks to the rubber back that give you hold, which I found works not only for gaming, but anytime you need to access the device.

The Slack:

The last time Speck visited the Val-Cave, their Corepack Fly scored well in my testing. And now that the CandyShells have gone through the ringer, I can honestly say that out of TOV 5 stars, I gotta give the CandyShells – for the iPad and the GRIP for the iPod Touch (4th generation) a TOV 5 stars perfect score. This holiday season look to Speck to fulfill all your iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch case needs. Head on over to the official Speck website as they have TONS of varieties to choose from.
